The hinge, especially a front bonnet hinge on a private motor vehicle, comprises pivot-interconnected link sections (3,7) on each hinge member (1,5), and the angle between the link sections changes constantly in one direction when the bonnet is hinged from the closed to the open position. During the lifting of the bonnet (4), the angle changes in this same direction. The lifting device (10,11) acts at least partially on the hinge member (1) which is associated with the front bonnet.
