A method of wet-processing laundry items washed in a horizontal axis front-loading washing machine comprises subsequent water removal steps in which the laundry items are rinsed and have water removed from them. Preferably the items are separated from at least part of the liquid before rinsing. An independent claim is also included for a laundry unit for the process above.
