<p>A sliding-type automobile seat constructed to be slidable through a slide mechanism, the seat having a lock mechanism for locking the seat to a predetermined position and a substantially U-shaped operation lever for releasing the seat from a locked state. The slide mechanism has a pair of lower rails fixed substantially parallel to a floor surface of a vehicle, and an upper rail fixed substantially parallel to a lower section of a seat cushion frame of the seat and slidably assembled to the lower rails. The lock mechanism has lock members and second engagement mechanisms. The lock members are individually swingably attached to the pair of upper rails, urged upward at one end of each of the lock members, and having first engagement mechanisms. The second engagement mechanisms are provided on the pair of lower rails. When the first engagement mechanism and the second engagement mechanism are releasably engaged, the seat is locked to a predetermined position. Base ends of connection members, having engagement mechanisms on the forward end side, are individually connected to both ends of the operation lever. When the engagement mechanisms are engaged with lock members, the operation lever is connected, by one-touch operation, to the lock members through the connection members.</p> |
