PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire winder superior in the cost aspect and safety, and having a high added value. SOLUTION: This wire rope winder is composed of a winding drum, a circular drum side plate installed on a side surface of the winding drum and having a diameter larger than a diameter of the winding drum, and a direction control piece projected on the winding drum side of the drum side plate, smaller than a diameter of a wire rope in the thickness from the drum side plate and forming an end part positioned in the radial direction to a drum side plate end part from the drum side plate center as a curved surface. The wire rope winder is characterized in that the direction control piece is projected at an interval of a wire rope one turn quantity or more in the drum side plate end part direction from the drum side plate center from a position of the outermost side wire rope in a state of completely winding the wire rope.
