PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fit and cushioning of a lumbar support with respect to a user's body in a chair including the lumbar support. SOLUTION: The lumbar support 15 is made of a synthetic resin plate, and both of the right and left ends of the lumbar support are provided with holder portions 35. Side members 13a composing a back frame 13 is fixed with brackets 29 held by the holder portions 35 of the lumbar support 15, the bracket 29 has a support rod 29a held by the holder 35 so as to be freely vertically moved. The inside of the holder portion 35 has a horizontal clearance. An inward horizontal movement of the holder portion 35 in a back rest 4 allows a large flexible deformation of the lumbar support 15.
