PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of accurately controlling a rotation driving device which causes the vibration of an outer casing to appropriately cope with complaints of a user of the washing machine against the vibration of the outer casing by directly detecting the vibration of the outer casing, and capable of more effectively dewatering the laundry with the vibration. SOLUTION: The vibration of the outer casing can be directly detected by an acceleration sensor, etc. mounted on the outer casing of the washing machine as a vibration detecting means 110. Accordingly, the vibration of the outer casing, which may be the direct cause of complaints of the user of the washing machine against the vibration, can be more accurately detected, and the accurately detected vibration of the outer casing can be appropriately controlled by a rotation driving means such as a driving motor 10 for driving a drum. A reference value of vibration at an arbitrary rotational frequency can be set and stored in a storage device 111, and therefore, by controlling the rotational frequency of the drum according to the result of comparison between the vibration value and the reference value of the outer case by a comparing means 112, more effective dewatering with reduced vibration is possible for the user.
