IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for effectively enhancing color contrast in a short processing period without finely setting parameters for each image.

SOLUTION: An image acquisition unit 11 acquires color image data. A color density calculating unit 12 recursively calculates a color density of a notable area and an average color density in a neighboring area composed of pixels positioned surrounding the notable area by using a color density of each pixel of the image data. A inverse S-shape conversion unit 13 recursively calculates an inverse S-shape conversion value of each pixel of which the color contrast enhanced on the basis of the color density of the notable area and the average color density in the neighboring area. An output correction unit 14 corrects the inverse S-shape conversion value so as to meet it to an output range. An image creating unit 15 creates a color image the color contrast of which is enhanced by re-constituting the color image from the corrected inverse S-shape conversion value.
