PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which allows observation of a three-dimensional position and a three-dimensional orientation of molecules contained in an observation target. SOLUTION: The microscope is equipped with: a laser output device 10 for pulse-oscillating a femtosecond laser; a mirror 11 for irradiating a spatial light modulator 12 with a laser beam outputted from the laser output device 10; a 1/4 wavelength plate 13 and a mirror 14 that, after modulating the phase of reflected light from the spatial light modulator 12, again irradiates the modulator 12 with the light; mirrors 16, 17 that, after making the reflected light from the modulator 12 transmit through the 1/4 wavelength plate 15, guide the light to a galvano scanner 18; an objective lens 21 for converging the light scanned by the galvano scanner 18 into a specimen 22; and a photomultiplier tube 25 for detecting a second higher harmonic among the light beams from the specimen 22.
