PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles for a display medium, in which firmly fixed ruggedness can be obtained on each surface, and which can exhibit high fluidity as well, and to provide a panel for information display in which a display defect and the reduction of a contrast ratio can be solved using the same. SOLUTION: Regarding the particles for a display medium composing the display medium used for a panel for information display, where a display medium is sealed into the space between two substrates in which at least either is transparent, and an electric field is applied to the display medium; thus the display medium is moved, so as to display information, (1) each particle is almost spherical shape obtained by polymerizing particle raw materials containing monomers, the particle raw materials contain a copolymer of (acrylic and methacrylic base) resin-hydrocarbon base resin or a copolymer of (acrylic and methacrylic base) resin- (acrylic and methacrylic base, containing hydrocarbon or fluorohydrocarbon on the side chain), a part or the whole of the monomers is a polyfunctional monomer(s), having a plurality of polymerization reaction groups in one molecule, and the surface of each particle is provided uniformly with microruggedness, and, (2) particulates are deposited or stuck to the surface layer of each particle.
