<p>An FFPC(Fast Forward Power Control) method for a portable phone is provided to maintain a stable FER by using a better target FER without using an ordinary target FER for a specific call, thereby stably servicing a high-quality call for an emergency call or a data call in which high quality is required. An FFPC(Fast Forward Power Control) method for a portable phone comprises the following steps of: setting an initial setpoint value as an allowed maximum value and using an FER higher than a value allocated from a base station as a target FER(Frame Error Rate)(SD1); receiving a frame from the base station and, if a state that the received frame is decoded is good, making the setpoint value lower later by subtracting a correction value from an original value when decreasing the setpoint value(SD2,SD3,SD4); and making the setpoint value follow the FER by adding the correction value to the original value when increasing the setpoint value in case the decoded frame is not good(SD5).</p> |
