PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepladder having excellent working efficiency because of enabling a worker to work on a step part with a wide tread, having excellent stability and safety with the tread close to the center of gravity of the stepladder because of disposing the step part inside a ladder part, having excellent transportability and space-saving property in storage by compactly storing the step part between the ladder parts when folded, and having excellent productivity with simple structure. SOLUTION: This stepladder 1 comprises a pair of ladder parts 2a, 2b each having two vertical members 3 and a plurality of crossbars 5 laid between them, and an opening/closing connection part 6 for connecting the ladder parts 2a, 2b in an openable/closable manner. The ladder part 2a comprises one or more step parts 7 having treads 8a-8d each formed inward from one crossbar 5, with the front end fixed to the upper face of the one crossbar 5, and riser plates 9a-9d formed upward from the inner ends of the treads 8a-8d, with each upper end fixed to the other crossbar 5 above the one crossbar 5.
