A fuel cell (1) is connected in parallel to an electric double layer capacitor (2) for supplying a power. A DC/DC converter (3) boosts the voltages of the fuel cell (1) and electric double layer capacitor (2) to output the power. An output switch (5) is disposed on the output path of the DC/DC converter (3). A control IC (4) can control the output switch (5) to turn on and off the output power. When the fuel cell (1) runs out of fuel or there occurs a trouble in the fuel cell (1), the control IC (4) controls the output switch (5) to intermittently vary the output power. Thus, in a case where the present apparatus is connected, as a mobile electronic device, to a mobile telephone, the user can recognize, from an on-and-off flashing state of a charging indicator lamp of the mobile telephone, the run-out of fuel or the occurrence of the trouble in the fuel cell. |
