PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric lamp capable of enduring high temperature and securing long life. SOLUTION: The electric lamp has an outer tube having a vacuum-tightly sealed inner tube extending in a longitudinal direction, and a longitudinal axis and an inner length LEG are regulated by the inner tube, and the inner tube has light emission means and sealed by sealing means at end parts facing each other. The outer tube composed of a whole length part LAKO and two neck parts cover the whole part of the inner tube, and a neck member is fixed to the sealing member. The sealing member includes a thin piece. A ratio of the whole length LAKO of the outer tube to the inner length LEG of inside capacity is 1.3 to 4, preferably 1.5 to 3.
