摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which is smaller in the space for collapse movement during a secondary collision, less in play in the rotational direction of a steering shaft, and high in the bending rigidity and the vibration rigidity. SOLUTION: When an upper column 11, an upper side steering shaft 21, and a lower side steering shaft 22 are moved forward of a vehicle body by the distance S3, and the lower side steering shaft 22 reaches a telescopic movement end forward of the vehicle body, a stepped part 222 is abutted on a rear end face 123B of a friction reducing member 123 to prevent the movement of the lower side steering shaft 22 forward of the vehicle body is prevented. Next, an upper bracket 7 shears a shear pin 771 and is detached from a vehicle body 13, and is subjected to the collapse movement together with the upper side steering shaft 21 forward of the vehicle body with respect to the lower side steering shaft 22 to absorb the shock during a secondary collision.
