PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning system capable of reducing the processing load at a positioning device and suppressing electric power consumption by illuminators. SOLUTION: A positioning device 20 receives photographed imageries from a photographing device 30 and records the received photographed imageries and the acquired time at time of receipt both coordinated mutually in a data base. Moreover, the positioning device 20 receives identification information contained in radio signals transmitted from an identification information transmitting device 40 through a receiving device 10. On the other hand, based on the acquired time at the time of receipt, the positioning device retrieves photographed imageries including the illuminator photographed during predetermined period anteroposterior the acquired time from the database, and, based on the retrieved photographed imageries and identification information, can detect a position of the identification information transmitting device corresponding with identification information.
