A lifeboat comprises longitudinal hollow members of which one member 2 has a part that overlaps the adjacent member 1 and a hollow keel carrying member 3 connected with the adjacent hollow members 2 by plates 6. The hollow members form buoyancy tanks, are subdivided by transverse bulkheads into watertight compartments, are large enough to obviate the necessity for transverse bracings in the boat, and provide longitudinal benches. The stem and stern posts 4, 5 are also hollow. |
