[Also in Group XIV] A fastener device for attaching a strap 14 to a tubular member 12 comprises a body portion 17 formed of resilient material and shaped to constitute a gapped tube, the gap extending longitudinally of the body portion, the transverse cross-section of which extends over more than a semi-circle, and a stud 24 extending generally inwardly from the body portion. The stud 24 is formed as a tongue on one end of the body portion 17 and it enters an aperture 28 in the member 12. The strap is folded round a flange 22 on the other end of the body portion. The free end 26 of the tongue is turned radially outwards to facilitate entry of the tongue into the aperture 28. The device may be used for securing straps formed of cloth or plastic in the type of furniture having a frame portion formed of tubular members. |
