The instrument has a pointer (1) which is designed as an optical fiber. The pointer has small and large pointer flag parts, where the small pointer flag part is overlaid to an observer side of the instrument. A light and permeable covering is provided between regions of the flag parts. Light sources are coupled by light over deflecting surfaces in the respective small and large pointer flag parts.
