A flicker correcting method, a flicker correcting device and an image pick-up device are provided to predict the amplitude of flicker by comparing a predicted flicker image to an image obtained by the image pick-up device and automatically control the amplitude of flicker even when the intensity of light varies. A flicker correcting device includes a flicker corrector(30R,30G,30B) and a flicker correction signal generator. The flicker corrector adds a flicker correction signal to an input image signal to perform flicker correction. The flicker correction signal generator predicts flicker of an image signal of the next frame from the flicker-corrected image signal and an image signal before flicker correction to generate two flicker image signals, compares the two flicker image signals to the image signal of the next frame to detect a flicker component, and generates the flicker correction signal based on the detected flicker component. The flicker correction signal generated by the flicker correction signal generator for each frame is added to the input image signal by the flicker corrector.
