A buttonhole sewing machine is provided to perform the cutting of buttonholes with various types and sizes through a simple structure. A buttonhole sewing machine with a C shape is formed. The sewing machine includes an upper arm(1), a lower basic plate(2) formed with a housing shape and a stand(3) for combining with both sides thereof. An arm shaft(4) is supported to the arm. The driving of a needle bar(5) including the needle and a rocking movement are performed at the arm shaft. The arm is driven by a driving motor. An X-Y table(7) is arranged at the basic plate. Two-piece type support plates(8b) are arranged at the X-Y table.
