Provided is a method for producing a cover soil material for a landfill by treating drainage sludge, which removes bad odor emitted from ammonia generated in the sludge and thus improves a work environment. The method for producing a cover soil material for a land fill from drainage sludge comprises a step of mixing 1 ton of drainage sludge with 20-30 wt% of zeolite and 5-10 wt% of fly ash, followed by fermentation. In the method, the drainage sludge is introduced continuously in a constant amount, a predetermined amount of zeolite and fly ash is mixed with the sludge in a screw type continuous agitator, and the resultant mixed sludge is subjected to fermentation while blowing air from the bottom.
