A method for realizing a game function in a mobile communication terminal is provided to increase utilization of mobile contents by applying location information of the mobile communication terminal to a game. A method for driving a game function in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: connecting to a game server in response to a request of a user(305); detecting location information of the mobile communication terminal and transmit the detected location information to the game server(309,311); receiving game event information, corresponding to the transmitted location information, from the game server(313); and displaying the received game event information(317). The process for detecting the location information of the mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: calculating a local position value of the mobile communication terminal by receiving and analyzing a location information signal; and calculating the calculated local position value as latitude, longitude coordinates values.
