<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a toner having a relatively uniform particle size distribution and contg. a plasticizer and a releasing agent by absorbing a polymerzable monomer in water-insoluble solvents finely dispersed in water and carrying out polymn. SOLUTION: When the objective toner is produced by a suspension polymn. method, at the time of preparing a monomer emulsion, an emulsion is previously prepd. by finely dispersing practically water-insoluble solvents in water, polymerizable monomer is absorbed in the finely dispersed solvents to increase the particle diameter of the emulsion and polymn. is carried out by heating to obtain the toner. In the case where a solvent acting as a plasticizer, e.g. phthalic ester and solvent acting as a releasing agent, e.g. silicone oil are used as the practically water-insoluble solvents, the toner contains the plasticizer and the releasing agent. By this method, it is necessary only to emulsify a small amt. of the solvents corresponding to about 1/10-1/100 of the amt. of the monomer and processes can be simplified especially in mass production.</p> |
