A channel switching device and a method therefor are provided to simultaneously solve the grasp difficulty of broadcasting contents in channel switching and inconvenience of key operation for channel search. A memory unit(25) stores a channel switching interval and a key mode setup list. A tuner(21) tunes a channel corresponding to a control signal. A channel up/down key allows a user to input a channel up/down command. If the channel up/down key is pressed for a predetermined time or more on the basis of the key mode setup list, a control unit(26) controls the channel tuning of the tuner(21) to successively go up/down a channel at the set interval.
