An automatic Illegal parking/stopping detecting method and system are provided to effectively detect front and rear detection areas by installing a vehicle detecting camera capable of rotating and tilting and having an in/out zoom lens. An automatic Illegal parking/stopping detecting method includes the steps of: detecting whether vehicles enter, move, or park/stop in an illegal parking/stopping detecting area, by vehicle detecting cameras(110,112) and then judging the state of the vehicle through an A/V(Audio/Video) server(120) by a parking/stopping detector(130); accurately checking the vehicle state and obtaining a position value based on the absolute coordinates by operating the vehicle detecting camera under the set conditions when the vehicle enters the detecting area; transmitting the obtained position value output on the basis of the absolute coordinates to a number recognition controller(150) by the parking/stopping detector, and photographing and storing the number of the corresponding vehicle by driving a number recognition camera(140) by the number recognition controller; judging whether the vehicle parks or stops in the detecting area over the set time after entering; and obtaining, storing, and transmitting information on the vehicle that parks or stops over the set time, by operating the number recognition camera by the number recognition controller. |
