Provided is a functional synthetic stone, and a method for manufacturing the same which comprises pulverizing loess and minerals emitting anion and far infrared and having effects good to human body into powder, kneading the powder so as to have gel form, and sintering/shaping the gel at high temperature. The method comprises: mixing 35 wt% of elvan power, 40 wt%of loess powder, 15 wt% of tourmaline powder, and 10 wt% of mica powder together with water to obtain a gelled paste; pouring the paste into mold having predetermined shape; introducing the mold into electric furnace; slowly elevating a temperature of the furnace to high temperature of 1750-1850 deg.C (provided that heating and resting time are repeated so as to prevent a cracking when rapid heating); sintering/shaping by maintaining the high temperature for 4 hours if it reaches the high temperature of 1750-1850 deg.C; and slowly cooling the mold.
