The friction lining comprises a porous fiber layer formed from a sintered fiber composite of sinterable fibers. The fiber composite is formed from polyimide fibers and/or polyacrylonitrile fibers. The fiber composite is formed from a fiber layer, which is preferably needle-punched, or a knitted fabric. The porous fiber layer has a surface formed of sinterable fibers, preferably polyimide fibers dispersed on the fiber composite and connected to the latter by sintering. Additives that influence the frictional properties are incorporated into the fiber composite. The fiber composite is sintered and carbonized. |
