A filter separator for cleaning of gaseous and liquid media in which a filter bed and a coalescing layer are made from the fibers of thermoplastic polymer, for example, polypropylene. The coalescing layer consists, at least, of two fine-fiber layers divided by a layer of coarse fibers, in this case, the density of fine-fiber layers decreases on the motion of moving the filtered medium.
