A vehicle seat (10) includes a seat backrest (12), bottom (14), and frame (16). The seat frame (16) operatively supports the seat bottom (14) and further has a seat backrest rotating assembly (28) that is adapted to allow the seat backrest (12) to move between an upright position and a folded position in which the seat backrest (12) is folded down upon the seat bottom (14). A hinge mechanism (90) allows the rear (20) of the seat frame (16) to be rotatively lifted upward and forward to move the seat frame (16) to a tumbled position. A first latching mechanism 40 is adapted to latch the seat backrest (16) in the upright position. A second latching mechanism (98) is adapted to latch the seat bottom (14) to the vehicle floor. A release assembly 30 is adapted to cause the first and the second latching mechanisms 40, (98) to be selectively released and has a release member 130 and a pulley assembly (132) to provide a mechanical advantage for operating the release assembly 30. |
