<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device, and a purifying method in the exhaust emission control device capable of sufficiently purifying an entire NOx occluding agent. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device having an NOx occluding agent 12 comprises flow rate control means 24, 26 for controlling an exhaust flow rate distributed in the occluding agent when the occluding agent 12 must be purified by adjusting a proportion of a flow rate of a first path 16, where the exhaust gas passes through the occluding agent, and a flow rate of a second path 18 bypassing the occluding agent; and a reducing agent adding means 32 upstream of the occluding agent. In this exhaust emission control device 20, the flow rate control means 24, 26 are adjusted according to the occluding agent temperature in a manner that the exhaust flow rate distributed in the occluding agent becomes a target flow rate regardless of a total exhaust gas volume from an engine. Because the reducing agent flows across the entire occluding agent, the entire temperature can be increased without temperature difference comparatively, so as to efficiently purify the entire occluding agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
