PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative image recording material having high sensitivity, excellent stability during storage and excellent allowance for conditions of heat treatment after exposure, with which a printing plate can be directly produced from digital data of a computer and the like by recording by using an IR laser and the like. SOLUTION: This recording material is produced by successively forming a photosensitive layer containing the following components (1) to (3), and an overcoat layer containing a laminar inorg. compd. on a supporting body. The photosensitive layer contains (1) a crosslinking agent which crosslinks by an acid, (2) a compd. which produces an acid by light or heat, (3) and an IR absorbent. Moreover, the photosensitive layer preferably contains (B) a polymer having alkali-soluble groups so as to increase the strength of the image part. The laminar inorg. compd. in the overcoat layer has >=20 aspect ratio, preferably >=100 and more preferably >=200, and for example, mica, especially a swellable fluorine-based synthetic mica is preferably used. |
