The bearing plate (18) for attaching cutter blades (12 ) to a mower plate is cup shaped and is open on the side which faces the blade. It has a bore through which a bolt (14) is inserted from below and fastened in place with a nut (16). A projection (36) on its underside fits against the mower plate and applies force to the connection. An Independent claim is included for a mower plate to which the bearing plate can be fitted.
