A system for processing a missing number and a method thereof are provided to search for a recommended number from prestored call connection history and phone numbers and to offer a guide message including a missing number notification and a recommended number for reducing annoyance to input a phone number of a receiving side terminal when a call connection is retried even though a user inputs a wrong number of the receiving side and tries to make a call connection with the wrong number. A system for processing a missing number comprises a controller(210), a database(250), a missing number message manager(220), a recommended number searching unit(230) and a guide message sending unit(240). The controller(210) controls an overall operation of the system. The database(250) stores information related to the missing number process system including phone numbers, registered by using a wired/wireless user terminal, and call connection history information under a control operation of the controller(210). The missing number message manager(220) transmits a missing number guide message, if a missing number message is received from a wired/wireless communication network, to the terminal which tries to make a call connection. The recommended number searching unit(230) searches phone numbers and call connection history information, matched with the terminal user information, by using the missing number, checks whether there exists a terminal number conforming to a preset condition, and extracts a recommended number satisfying the preset condition if the missing number message is received from the missing number message manager(220). The guide message sending unit(240) sends a guide message, including the recommended number and missing number notification information, to the wired/wireless user terminal. |
