ORGANIC THIN FILM TRANSISTOR AND FLAT PANEL DISPLAY APPARATUS COMPRISING THE SAME

An organic TFT is provided to decrease the number of fabricating processes and more easily fabricate an organic TFT thinner than a conventional TFT by eliminating the necessity of process for forming a gate insulation layer. A source electrode(123) and a drain electrode(124) are disposed on a substrate(110). An organic semiconductor layer(127) comes in contact with the source electrode and the drain electrode wherein the source electrode, the drain electrode and the organic semiconductor layer constitute an ohmic contact. A gate electrode(121) comes in contact with the organic semiconductor layer wherein the organic semiconductor layer and the gate electrode constitute a schottky contact. The organic semiconductor layer is an n-type organic semiconductor layer. The gate electrode has a work function higher than that of the n-type organic semiconductor layer. The source electrode and the drain electrode have work function lower than that of the n-type organic semiconductor layer.
