A plasma display panel is provided to enhance discharge efficiency by increasing a discharge path in a discharge gap between a first discharge electrode of an X electrode and a first discharge electrode of a Y electrode. A front substrate(10) is formed of a transparent material. A rear substrate(20) is separated from the front substrate and is positioned in parallel with the front substrate. A barrier rib(15) is formed in a space between the front and the rear substrate in order to define discharge cells(16). An X electrode(11) is arranged on a surface of the front substrate and includes at least two discharge electrodes(11a,11b,11c). A Y electrode(12) is arranged on the surface of the front substrate and includes at least two discharge electrodes(12a,12b,12c). A first dielectric layer(13) is formed on the surface of the front substrate in order to cover the X and Y electrodes. A protective layer(14) is formed on a surface of the first dielectric layer. An address electrode(18) is arranged on a surface of the rear substrate. A second dielectric layer(17) is formed on a surface of the rear substrate in order to cover the address electrode. A phosphor layer(19) is formed on the second dielectric layer and the barrier rib of the discharge cells.
