METHOD OF COOLING ROLL OF HOT-ROLLED STRIP AND DEVICE FOR REALIZATION OF THIS METHOD

FIELD: rolling process; cooling rolls of hot-rolled strips. ^ SUBSTANCE: removal of heat is carried out through gasket for retaining quality of strip surface, reducing cooling time and equalizing physico-mechanical properties of finished strip; this gasket is engageable with base of roll and its heat conductivity is no lower than that of material of strip in roll. Gasket may be laid on both bases of roll and coolant is delivered to gaskets over radial section of roll in at least three separate flows at different intensity of heat removal. Device proposed for realization of this method has reservoir with closed space; one base of this reservoir which is engageable with base of roll is made from material whose heat conductivity is not below that of material of strip being cooled. Base is provided with centering cone for locking the roll in required position. Reservoir is provided with coolant inlet and outlet branch pipes which are separated by partition for circulation of coolant. Reservoir is divided into three circular passages for flow of coolant at different intensity of heat removal from roll turns located above and under it. Each passage has its own inlet and outlet branch pipe separated by partition for circulation if coolant. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. ^ 5 cl, 8 dwg, 1 tbl
