METHOD FOR GENERATING AUTOMATICALLY IPV6 ADDRESS BY USING IPV6 IDENTIFIER

A method for automatically generating IPv6 addresses by using IPv6 identifiers is provided to minimize address collision probability with other terminal address through an encryption process using a hash function as well as generation of a proprietary IPv6 identifier at a mobile communication terminal. A method for automatically generating IPv6 addresses by using IPv6 identifiers comprises the following several steps. An ESN(Electronic Serial Number) or an IMSI(International Mobile Station Identifier) of a mobile communication terminal is hashed by using an encryption hash function(S500). Partial bits are selected among an encrypted hash value resulted from the hashing step, an IPv6 identifier having a preset size is generated(S502). An IPv6 address is generated by combining the generated IPv6 identifier with prefix information(S504).
