PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross tomographic apparatus and a cross tomographic method which can obtain a tomographic image having a clear contour. SOLUTION: In cross tomograph using the apparatus, the tomographic image is generated through the following steps. A cross section to be imaged in a subject is set. An X-ray radiation angle is set. The subject is irradiated with X-rays. Transmission image data is generated. It is judged whether imaging or generation of the transmission image data is finished at every radiation angles, and until it is finished, generation of the transmission image data is repeated. Convolution processing for making a transverse edge of the imaged cross section clear is performed to all the transmission image data. The transmission image data where the image of a region of interest in the transmission image is nearly orthogonal to a cross photographed area is selected. Each transmission image data is weighted to be corrected. A plurality of transmission image data are composited to generate the tomogram of the subject. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
