<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stabilized α-lipoic acid composition suppressing change in quality and deterioration of an α-lipoic acid and a composition in a mode for industrially effectively making good use of the stabilized α-lipoic acid composition in industry. <P>SOLUTION: The stabilized α-lipoic acid composition is obtained by coating the external surface of α-lipoic acid powder and/or particle with a lipid. The stabilized α-lipoic acid is obtained by coating the external surface of α-lipoic acid powder and/or particle with a lipid and further coating the resulting external surface with a hydrophilic substance. The stabilized α-lipoic acid composition is obtained by using one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of rind of Garcinia Cambogia, rhizome of Astilbe thunbergii, leaves of Psidium guajava L., and carnitine besides the composition. The α-lipoic acid is preferably an optical racemic isomer and the lipid has preferably ≥ about 40°C melting point.
