<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a mobile device which variably adjusts the power of cell signals transmitted from a current serving cell and neighboring cells while the mobile device is in a standby mode. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile device includes a signal processing unit which processes cell signals received from each base station corresponding to a current serving cell and neighboring cells, and a main processor which enables the signal processing unit to measure each power level of the received signals, determines a cell reselection frequency and variably adjusts the power measurement period based on the cell reselection frequency. While the mobile device is in a standby mode, the mobile device which variably adjusts the power measurement period, measures the power of the cell signals during a variable period, thereby decreasing power consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
