<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cycloalkanol and/or a cycloalkanone in good selectivity by oxidizing a cycloalkane with oxygen in good conversion. <P>SOLUTION: The production method involves oxidizing the cycloalkane with the oxygen in the presence of a catalyst obtained by allowing a phyllosilicate to carry cobalt.
