<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for manufacturing a carbon/ceramic composite material manufactured to give high density under the atmospheric pressure without using high pressure forming. <P>SOLUTION: Pitch, ceramic powder and novolak type phenol resin powder are blended in a prescribed ratio. Slurry is made by wet-pulverizing and mixing the blended mixture with water containing a surfactant, a defoaming agent and a binder respectively in the quantity of ≤5%. The slurry mixture is poured into a forming flask or the like to be formed without being pressurized and is dried.
