PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating device and a heating method capable of uniformly heating a heated object without generating edge heating. SOLUTION: The induction heating device (100) inductively heats a conductive heated object (W) while conveying it, and is equipped with an electromagnetic wave generation part (1) generating electromagnetic wave to inductively heat the heated object (W). The electromagnetic wave generation part (1) has a total of a width of an electromagnetic wave generation region (10) on a transportation direction of the heated object (W) formed nearly equal at any position on a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction, and also, a total width on a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the heated object (W) equal to or less than a width of a direction perpendicular to the transportation direction of the heated object (W).
