PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high data transfer speed by stabilizing the attitude of a disk during high-speed rotation and inverting a magnetic field at a high speed. SOLUTION: A flexible disk type recording medium 13 is held on a magnetic rotary disk 12 and rotated to suppress rotational oscillations of the flexible disk type recording medium 13, thereby making a floating head 15 stably float. The magnetic rotary disk 12 is formed of a soft magnetic body having an easy magnetization direction in parallel to a plate surface. Consequently, efficiency of magnetic field application to the recording medium is improved to improve the data transfer speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
