PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector for contributing to the stable control of a system. SOLUTION: The gas detector comprises a contact combustion type gas detection element that is arranged under a humidification environment and detects gas to be detected based on at least a current value; a current detection means for detecting current flowing to the gas detection element; and an impurity adhesion determination means for determining the adhesion of impurities to the detection element when the detection value of the current detection means is equal to or higher than a prescribed current value.
