PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charcoal kiln which can simply make good-quality charcoal. SOLUTION: The charcoal kiln comprises an outer kiln 1, a top cover 2, an inner kiln 3, a chimney pipe 4, and a circumferential hot-air passage 6 formed between the outer kiln 1 and the inner kiln 3. The degree of opening in the gap (hot-air feed gap 8) between the top cover 2 and the margin 31a of the upper opening of the inner kiln is made capable of being adjusted by attaching or detaching the top cover 2 to or from the margin 31a of the upper opening of the inner kiln 3 by lifting or lowering the top cover 2. In the state in which the hot-air feed gap 8 is open, the hot air H fed into the circumferential hot air passage 6 is fed through the hot-air feed gap 8 into the inner kiln 3, and the hot air H is discharged into the outside through the chimney pipe 4. The quantity of the hot air fed into the inner kiln 3 from the circumferential hot-air passage 6 is adjusted according to the degree of opening of the hot-air feed gap 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
