PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling the production of an amino acid, without containing liquid and solid organic compounds in raw materials, using a low molecular weight gas having approximately 50 molecular weight, as a gas, having an extremely stable energy-inputting condition and using a low temperature process not decomposing or degenerating the produced amino acid. SOLUTION: This method for producing the amino acid is provided by bubbling the low molecular weight gas into an inorganic acidic solution mixed with inorganic particles under a super saturated state. As the low molecular weight gas, at least 1 kind of a gas selected from methane, ethane, propane, butane and ammonia can be used and it is preferable to irradiate an energy beam such as an ultraviolet light, etc., having 80-600 nm wavelength to a reaction system.
