PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring an image indicated by image data after correction closer to the image of a manuscript by correcting the image data even when the image data is distorted resulting from an error in the reading position of a scanner. SOLUTION: This image processing has three steps. In a first reading step, a scale is read by the scanner as the image data. In a second reading step, the manuscript is read by the scanner as the image data. In a correction step, the image data of the manuscript is corrected by using the image data of the scale.
