<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metallic nanoparticles having a uniform distribution of particle forms and its diameters, and high crystallinity, and to provide a production method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing the metallic nanoparticles from a salt of a metal comprises: a reduction step of depositing metallic particles by adding the salt of the metal to the first solution containing an organic compound having a nature of coordinating a metal; and an aging step of growing crystals of defect-free particles among the metallic particles, while dissolving the defective particles among the metallic particles into the second solution containing an organic ligand.
