PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving the numerical aperture of a pixel area almost up to 100% without using the most advanced micromachining device whose line-width design rule is stricter. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device constituted by joining together a driving substrate 14 where pixel electrodes 12 and driving circuits driving the pixel electrodes are arrayed in a matrix and a transparent substrate 34 where a counter electrode 16 is formed across a liquid crystal LC so that the pixel electrodes and a counter electrode may face each other is characterized in that a metal reflecting film in the same shape with each pixel electrode is formed on the pixel electrode while shifted in a position by a distance smaller than an inter-pixel width L1 along the lateral axis and longitudinal axis of the array matrix of the pixel electrodes.
